VAEL 2020 was awarded a gold medal thanks to the 90.31 points it obtained in the wine guide and contest Wine Up! 2023.

In the frame of FENAVIN 2023, the 20203 edition of the wine guide Wine Up! Was presented, containing more than 1,100 wines and spirits. This is a guide that uses the same procedure as international contests, based on a blind tasting, without knowing the brand or origin of the wine.

In the first big test for VAEL, we have obtained an outstanding result, a gold medal thanks to the 90.31 points earned by our wine.

The Wine Up! guide also tasting notes for the different wines it includes. For VAEL 2020 it reads: A cherry red color with deeper red rims. In the nose, it blends the reminiscent of red fruits with vanilla and roasted aromas. It is mouth-filling, refreshing and structured. The presence of tannins makes it fleshy and brings an aftertaste of ripe fruits, particularly with a tone of ripe cherry and a final delicate tone of cocoa and vanilla.

From the VAEL family, we are highly satisfied with this first assessment and reward for our wine. A recognition that goes, above all, to those that took care of and worked on our vineyards in Jumilla. That place to which, generation after generation, our family has been linked.

The Wine Up! guide is turning this year 10 years old. It is also the first one in the world to be released fully online and likely the only one to rate all its wines with a blind tasting procedure in which all the wines are rated by the same expert. i.e. with a single assessment criterion.
