Vael 2020 has obtained a rating of 90 out of 100 for its first harvest, positioning itself among the finest wines of the 2024 Peñín Guide.
The Lozano-Vázquez family’s project, which took its first big step with the market launch of VAEL 2020, is already receiving its first awards and recognitions from the most important guides and associations in our home country, Spain.
Last June we were happy to share the gold medal received from the Wine Up! guide. At the end of August we were highly satisfied to receive the 90 points assessment of the Peñín Guide. This assessment places VAEL among the top wines of the D.O.P. Jumilla and Spain, those whose quality propels them beyond the 90 points barrier.
The Peñín Guide is one of the wine guides with the longest and most recognized trajectory and in Spain. It was founded by José Peñín in 1990. And it has worked since its first editions with the American rating system, ranging between 50 and 100 points. The tasting process of the Peñín Guide values the complexity, variety and originality of the wines, together of course, with their overall quality.
For Emilio Lozano these 90 points are a recognition that would make our family’s previous generations extremely happy. It is them who worked so hard in order to build the grape and wine-growing legacy with which we make VAEL nowadays.
