Professionally I am focused on the world of aerospace engineering. In this such an international discipline I have been able to visit most of the world. In the different projects where I have been involved around the globe I have always brought with me the wines of Jumilla as a flag. Since I was a child I have been in touch with the world of wine and vineyards, seeing how grapes from the vines reached the table to become the center of our family reunions. At home, wine has always been a core part of family life since we have been linked with the wine of Jumilla for generations. Considering this experience and family traditions VAEL is born. VAEL is not only a wine but a family project where I can come back to my Jumilla roots and bring the excellent wines of my native land to the rest of the world.
Currently I reconcile my normal work with supporting my sons in this thrilling project. The world of wine was a big unknown for me until I met my husband Francisco. Since then, wine has been always present in my life, hearing every day my husband and his father discuss different wines, the nuances, the impressions, the scent, the ripeness of grapes, the color, the right moment for the harvest. This way, without noticing it, the world of wine captivated me and I keep being captivated for now and the future. VAEL signifies for me the opportunity for other people to experience the same impressions that I have experienced through the wine, the vineyards and the world surrounding them.
After a life long learning experience and being at my prime, I can say that I have been connected to the growing of vines and the world of wine for ages. I have been involved in all different steps, from harvesting or pruning the vines to bottling the final product. I remember that while performing those tasks, I got my first experience with wine together with my grandfather.
As I grew up I kept learning and absorbing the knowledge from my father that he took from his father.
Finally, the evolution of a life involved in the world of wine has helped me to proudly value the ambition of my sons so I can only support the project of VAEL with my work, my knowledge and my excitement about the world of wine.
After different experiences around the world, I am currently a researcher in Stockholm (Sweden) in the field of aerodynamics. There has always been a constant in the different places I was, people were amazed by the wines I brought from Jumilla. VAEL means the opportunity to show the result of the tradition in my family and my hometown of Jumilla to the different corners of the world where I have been living.
I discovered the traditions while working on the weekends and holidays in the family vineyards. VAEL allows me to combine the two features that characterize my life: my origin from Jumilla intimately connected to the wine world and my daily life associated with an international environment focused on engineering and technology.
